In a lot of popular TV shows there is usually a “third place” where everyone goes to hang out.  Sometimes it’s a bar (Grey’s Anatomy), a diner (Men of a Certain Age), a coffee shop (Seinfeld), a coffee house (Friends). In the  Beachwood Canyon neighborhood of the late ’90s, one of these places was  the Hollywood Hills Coffee Shop.  On any given Saturday or Sunday you could find yourself among the  the architects, doctors, teachers, actresses (some veterans, some just starting out), actors (some famous, some just getting by), directors,  and writers of the neighborhood. Sometimes it was the Deputy District Attorney.
