When we moved the restaurant (a long story for another blog) to the new location on North Vermont in Los Feliz, we had a separate area known as Michael’s Room. It had its own entrance in the front, but shared the bathrooms with the Coffee Shop. Since Michael’s Room was only open for dinner, we were able to use it for groups and other meetings.
One group that came regularly was the Southern California Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America. Each month they would have a guest speaker who would bring a book jacket to be signed and added to the newly created, “Writer’s Wall.”
Joseph Wambaugh, a former LAPD detective sergeant, was still working for the  police department when he published  his first novel, The New Centurians.
This is the signed book jacket for his 16th novel. He’s since written five more, one of them titled, “Hollywood Hills.”
