Comedian, musician, and actor, Carl Ballantine did it all until his death at 92. Ballantine was a good friend of Coffee Shop regular, Edith Fellows.

Born Myron Kessler, he renamed himself after a bottle of Ballantine Whiskey. He continued the tradition by naming his two daughters after his favorite racetracks, Saratoga and Molly Caliente. Saratoga, a well-known voice actor produced a film called Troupers. It features another couple of Edith’s show biz buddies, Betty Garrett and Connie Sawyer.

Here is a trailer from Troupers.
