Bozo the Clown influenced a lot of clown characters who came after him, including Krusty from the Simpsons and Ronald McDonald. But, Bozo wasn’t just one person. The character was a franchise, and every major city had one. The man who controlled the Bozo  character was a man named Larry Harmon, who purchased the licensing rights from Capitol Records in 1956. His story is told in the book, the Man Behind the Nose. I think that this photo was originally signed by Harmon, then another Bozo signed over it.  I guess we’ll never know. What was interesting was the card I found on the back of the picture.
