Life is always full of surprises. This photo hung on the wall at the Coffee Shop, but I never really paid much attention to it. I had no idea who Robert B. Sherman was until I looked him up recently on the internet. Sherman, who passed away this year on March 6 at the age of 86 lived a full life and left an amazing musical legacy as well as children, grandchildren, and thousands of fans. Although his name is not that familiar to most people, anyone who has been to Disneyland with a child has been serenaded by his creativity, since he is the co-writer,(along with his brother, Richard M. Sherman) of the timeless (and some say annoying) theme park song, “It’s a Small World (After All).” In the photo he writes that this a “supercali restaurant” No higher compliment could be paid , I suppose, since Sherman is also the co-author of the Mary Poppins super hit, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” After reading about this “super”man I’m surprised that there hasn’t been a movie about his amazing life.
