Having a neighborhood Coffee Shop in a neighborhood like Beachwood Canyon means your neighbors are going to be interesting.  And the Truscotts were interesting and then some.  Both Lucian and Carolyn were published writers, but more importantly they were consummate foodies.  Lucian brought in a recipe for a pasta dish that he thought we might like.  We did.  Pasta Lilly, named after their daughter become a “regular special.”  When they planned a vacation in France, Lucian turned it into a feature article in Saveur.  They didn’t exactly make the cover, but they did make it onto the Wall.  I lost contact with the Truscotts years ago, but from what I can see on the internet, they moved to Tennessee, expanded their family by two more children and are raising hens and producing foodie worthy eggs for local restaurants.
